Rob Zombie

Mayhem Festival 2010

Got back this afternoon from our little trip to Virginia Beach.  Did get a chance to use my new stereo with the DVD screen on it while we drove to Richmond.  Watched Clerks 2 on the trip up, which ate up just enough time for us to get to Mikey’s house.  We enjoyed staying at their house, then hit up Virginia Beach on Wednesday.  It was a HOT one for sure!!  Temperatures topping around 100, but with humidity it felt like 200!!  We spent most of the day under a tree listening to the plethora of bands that was there.  We saw bruises, blood, and serious making out.  Always a great combo!

As the day went on and the sun went down, we got to our seats and enjoyed all the main lining bands like Five Finger Death Punch, Lamb of God, Rob Zombie, and Korn.  I would say that the best show was put on by Rob Zombie because of the absolute energy that he put into the show.  They got off to a late start so I think they were putting extra care into making sure people got their money’s worth.  Rob knew they had a schedule to stick to so without much talking, he proceeded to rock the faces off everyone there.  He even took time to run through the crowd and right by me.  I was literally 3 feet away from the singer of my all time favorite band.  I was especially shocked when they sang some old White Zombie songs including Thunder Kiss ’65.  The audience went crazy and I think they absorbed our energy and fed it right back to us.

A+ show by all bands.. I think the heat zapped much of the energy of the crowd, but it was an awesome show and sounded great!!  The people that I went with made the show even better.. big thanks to Sam, Jessi, Mikey and Janine (hope I spelled that right) for hanging out… Also ran into my awesome friend and her hubby while we were there and it was nice to see they made it up safe and sound.  I don’t know that I’ll do it again next year if the heat is the same, but hopefully!

Mikes house

arrived in richmond

Welp.. I am in Richmond right now with Jadielady and Sam.  Staying at Mike’s house tonight before we venture off to Virginia Beach tomorrow for Mayhem tour.  Going to see a couple of the bands that I’m really into.  Especially..  *drum rolls*… ROB ZOMBIE!!!  Oh yea baby ;)  We got here a couple of hours ago, went to taco bell to grab some dinner cause the BBQ wasn’t ready yet :(  Maybe tomorrow night!!  Supposed to be about 100 degrees tomorrow and it will be a full day of rocking!!!  Well.. I’ll be sure to post pictures… They’ll probably be crappy phone pics, but the important part is that I’ll be there in person to rock my face off!!

Moulin Rouge

my gift is my song

Just watching some Moulin Rogue…  I’m always taken back when I watch this movie the first time.  I remember watching it what seemed like an eternity ago.  You were laying beside me and had convinced me this would be a great movie.  I did enjoy the movie, but I think I enjoyed you being there more.  I remember enjoying every second of the movie.  I some times.. well more than some times wish I could go back in time and talk to myself that night.  I had so many interesting times ahead and I think that things would be different if I could have given myself advice about the future years.  I know they say you can’t live in the past, but sometimes it’s not so bad to want to do things over.  Maybe things would have ended up a little different.. A right turn here or a left turn there.  I won’t complain.. I have had a good life full of good and bad experiences.   I’m not giving up on it either.  You never know what life will hold in store for you.  Pain and heart break can easily lead into something good and lovely.. It’s just the randomness of life that sometimes can play a bit of havoc in your world.  You just have to have faith that there’s a bigger plan in place and the tough journey you’ve had here will lead to smoother roads there.  Just a bit on my mind right now.

I will say that making the choices I have that I have touched many people’s lives that I might not have if I had made different choices.. Maybe that’s what it’s all about.  The choices you make in life though may be bad at the time can some times lead to doing good in other people’s lives.  That can sometimes make up for what ever heart ache you suffer personally.  Maybe people benefit or learn from your choices or mistakes.  Maybe it makes them stronger people in life or helps them to touch other peoples’ lives in a way that wouldn’t be possible otherwise.  I think there’s a master plan for everyone and though you may not agree with that plan at the time or afterwards, it isn’t always your choice to make.  I think I have done good and bad in my life.. I think that would sum up the story for a lot of people, but things usually tend to work out.  I suppose that’s what life is…  Making choices.. living with them.. and learning from them.
